Work At Height And Rescue
Course Overview
The Work at height and Rescue course is designed to support all personnel involved in an emergency situation while working at height and require skills to perform first response rescue of a worker suspended at height. Delegates will have the opportunity to build the knowledge and experience of how to properly inspect and use the rescue kits and how to perform and complete a rescue whilst working at height.
Course Delivery
The course includes both theoretical and practical sessions covering the following topics.
- Describe the different Working at Height situations and the material adapted.
- Describe the mechanism of orthostatic intolerance.
- Explain the use of suspension straps.
- Name the possible work situations where a Rescue at Height shall be necessary on rig.
- Describe the R250 and/or R550 DBI Sala Type of rescue kit components as well as other similar devices.
- Explain the Rescue at Height sequences while using a rescue kit.
- Demonstrate how to prepare a rescue plan based on different rig layouts.
- Explain the medical response following a suspension in a body harness
Course Requirement
The work at height and Rescue course requires the delegates to have a valid Working At Height Certification.
The course is designed for HSE Representatives, Drillers, Assistant Drillers, Derrick hands, scaffolders, riggers, telecom riggers and any other person whose duties requires to perform work and Rescue At Height operations.
Certification
- Written and practical test will be performed
- Our Instructor will perform a competency assessment during the practical part of the training.
- Successful completion of the course and a pass mark of 80% or above will result in a TAMSE issued Certificate valid for two (2) years.
